Set in the midst of beautiful, leafy Hampshire The Potters Heron Hotel, with its picturesque thatched roof, quirky corners and light, spacious rooms is the ideal venue for a special wedding. The Potters Heron has been privately owned since 2007 and carefully refurbished and improved since then. The hotel holds a Civil Marriage Licence and is able to host both civil ceremonies and wedding receptions for up to 100 guests.
Our three wedding suites - The Garden Room, The Coppice and The Ampfield - are all close to the heart of the building and each provide a light and welcoming ambiance for your reception. There are garden terraces outside the Garden Room and the Ampfield. Our two smaller rooms, Hursley and Barishfield, are perfect for a more intimate celebration. Over the years we have built our own list of tried and trusted wedding specialists - florists, cake makers, chair cover suppliers, entertainers and more - and would be please to recommend them to you.

The hotel has plenty of room for guests travelling from afar for the celebrations. We have 53 bedrooms and are please to offer a special rate for your guests.
Many of our bedrooms have a small terrace or balcony overlooking the gardens. The beds are very comfortable with crisp, cotton sheets and plump pillows.

The Potters Heron Hotel is a charming hotel, bar and restaurant with a thatched roof which creates an authentic and cosy atmosphere. Inside there is a much more modern 21st century feel, yet still possessing the relaxing ambiance with it’s soothing colours and comfortable décor. You can also be confident you will receive a warm and friendly manor with all staff at The Potters Heron Hotel. Whether you’re having a drink in our bar, dinner in our restaurant, attending a wedding or an event or having a weekend away, being situated in a rural location makes it the perfect place to take a break from your busy lifestyle.
We have 53 delightful bedrooms, a large restaurant and a welcoming bar. We also have a variety of different-sized rooms for weddings, parties, private dinners, conferences, meetings, training courses and much more.
Our bedrooms offer a variety of styles to light, fresh colours, cosy chocolate colours for a warm feel and extra special rooms that have modern en suite bathrooms and homely décor. All rooms have finishing touches that will make you feel more at ease these include comfortable cushions catered to suit each room, views of the surrounding landscape, some rooms available with a terrace/balcony and also appropriate canvases to make our rooms feel that little bit more like home. At first and second roundabouts follow signs to Chandlers Ford. At third roundabout follow signs for Ampfield. Continue straight over the crossroads.
